Unvented gas log fireplace enclosures are gas-burning units. They are tested and manufactured to offer a traditional look, style and efficiency without the need for venting.

A vent-free unit, which has been around since 1994, offers an extremely efficient recirculating fireplace system that converts all the gas fuel available into heat that remains within the room. There is no other vented fireplace option that can match this level of efficiency.

Of course, there are other options, but none as efficient or convenient. For example, a vented or traditional fireplace utilizes room air and relies on draft for efficiency while reflecting heat into the home – it is the next best alternative. Another example is a non-efficient alternative would be a direct-vent gas unit which pulls outside air into an enclosed sealed glass front box, creating its own draft through the same vented pipe through the wall. These types of units are for show, expensive and offer no economic or environmental value to the home.
